What Is an NCR Book?

What NCR Books Are

An NCR book (No Carbon Required book) is a printed business form made using carbonless paper. It allows information written on the top sheet to be automatically transferred to one or more copies underneath, without using carbon paper. NCR books are commonly used by businesses that need duplicate or triplicate records for documentation, tracking, and internal reference.

Carbonless paper is coated with special microcapsules that transfer writing pressure from the top sheet to the sheets below.
When you write or print on the first page, the content is reproduced clearly on subsequent pages.

This makes NCR books practical, clean, and easy to use for daily business operations.

NCR books help businesses:

  • Keep consistent written records
  • Reduce manual copying
  • Improve documentation accuracy
  • Maintain organised paper trails
  • They are widely used across many industries for routine record-keeping.

NCR books are often used for:

  • Invoice records

  • Delivery orders (DO)

  • Service reports

  • Receipt copies

  • Job sheets
